Martin Portus

Martin Portus Martin has worked on a wide range of projects since graduating in Landscape Architecture in 1987. The National Trust has figured largely in his client list; the restoration of Croome Landscape Park in particular was the focus of extensive work over several years. Other National Trust projects have included the sensitive design of new access and visitor circulation at Attingham Park, The Vyne, the Devils Punch Bowl and the research and restoration of the gardens at Wordsworth House in Cockermouth. Martin has also worked on many other historic landscapes including sites such as Batsford Arboretum and the large gardens at Woodstock Museum, Oxfordshire which required careful historical analysis and negotiation with agencies such as English Heritage. Martin has also been a Landscape Consultant to The Cabinet Office for various projects in Whitehall. He has been involved in numerous Community Planning projects in his home town of Cirencester and is currently Chairman of the Cirencester Civic Society, a registered charity that works to protect and enhance the built environment.
